Lukáš Klánský

Lukáš Klánský is one of the most important and most wanted Czech pianists of the young generation. Thanks to many international competitions and successful performances at festivals in the Czech Republic as well as in Europe, he has become both a popular soloist and a chamber musician. In 2014 he won the first prize at the Johannes Brahms International Competition in Portschach, Austria as a member of the Lobkowicz Tria. Lukáš was born on March 22, 1989 in Prague. From the age of five he was a disciple of Prof. Růžena Učňová at the Music School of the Capital City of Prague. Between 2004 and 2010 he studied at the Prague Conservatory in the class of prof. Eva Boguni. After completing his master s degree at the Prague HAMU in his father s class, prof. Ivan Klansky is now continuing his PhD studies. Lukáš is a laureate of many international competitions (EPTA 2002, Agropolli 2003, Karl Drechsel Förderpreis 2007, Beethoven s Hradec 2007, Innerational Rotary Piano Competition 2012, Darmstadt Chopin International Wettbewerb 2013). He performs with leading Czech orchestras (the Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Barocco sempre giovanne) and conductors such as Libor Pešek, Andreas Sebastian Weiser, Jan Kučera, Gundi A. Emilsson or Istvan Denes . Concerts in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Croatia, Slovenia, Poland, Turkey and South Africa. The audience in the Czech Republic has performed at festivals such as Prague Spring, Dvořák Prague, World Piano, Vaclav Hudeček, Talich Beroun, or the Czech Chamber Music Society. He is a member of the successful Lobkowicz trio (Jan Mráček-housle, Ivan Vokáč- violoncello.) He regularly performs with leading Czech artists, such as Václav Hudeček, Jana Boušková, Kateřina Javůrková or the world-renowned Pražák Quartet. In the autumn of 2013, Lukáš and his father Ivan appeared at the World Piano Production Festival. Their performance of Dvořák s Slavonic Dances was recorded by Czech Radio and in November 2014 this record was released on CD. Lukáš s musical feelings, apart from his permanent educators, also formed Martin Kasík, as well as the world-famous Garrick Ohlsson, whose masterclass was attended by Prague. He also studied conducting in the class of prof. Miriam Němcová and prof. Hynek Farkač and choral works in class prof. M. Košler. Lukáš Klánský pedagogically works at the Conservatory of Pilsen and the Gymnázium and the Music School of Prague. m. Prague..
